Kent County Warrant Records Kent County Warrant Records

This page explains what we can help with and where to send a question about an official Kent County warrant. Almost every request belongs with the court that issued the order or with the Sheriff's Office, not with us, so the routing and contacts below point each need at the right office in Chestertown.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office directly.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Most Kent County questions fall into one of four routes. Read the route first, then use the contact block that matches it.

  • Whether a court order is outstanding: call the clerk of the court that issued it. The District Court clerk covers traffic, misdemeanors, certain felonies, and ordinance matters; the Circuit Court clerk covers serious felonies, family, and juvenile files.
  • A bench warrant for a missed date or an unanswered citation: the issuing court holds that file, and a bond may already be preset, so ask before you appear.
  • Charging, an initial appearance, or a bail question: the District Court Commissioner is the judicial officer route, and its published hours extend past the clerk window.
  • Resolving or clearing an order: talk with a Maryland attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or posting bond.
